“Winning is everything. The only ones who remember you when you come second are you wife and your dog.”
Damon Hill, 1996 world Formula One Champion.
I just read
Mike Lipkin's (Mike) book "
KEEPER of the FLAME". A book filled with potent statements and anecdotes, relevant for all of us. Many of us go to bed thinking about how to improve the company's services, increase sales, push revenues, how to strengthen your customer service and so on... All of us need powerful input & positive energy. This book helps you to reflect on your daily actions and how those actions are interpreted by family, friends and colleagues.
"
Wherever you are is where you’re destined to be, because that’s where you are." Mike Lipkin
Mike writes the book as a joint venture between you and Mike. He hands out his phone number and e-mail address and encourage all "keepers of the flame" to take direct contact with him. The core essence of the book is to help you see, handle and act on the truths so that you do what is right for you.
Key takeaway for me was to build awareness on how much positive energy that I build, spread and “suck up” every day. Every action is a future asset or a future liability – “excellence is a habit”. On the same theme - Intensity is not always a guarantee of success, but lack of intensity is always a guarantee of failure.
In the life that we all live, pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional. So, people with the right attitude and excellent behaviour will turn all challenges into solutions. These are the colleagues that you need in order to build success.
Great Quotations – Keeper of the flame – Mike Lipkin- “Some people can walk trough a forest and not see any firewood.”
- “Down times build emotional muscle. Tall trees do not grow with ease”
- “The six most important words in the English language are - I admit I made a mistake”
- “Normal does not live here anymore and she’s never coming back”
- “In today’s global economy you’re not going to get better and faster on your own.”
- “Engage or Get Lost”
- “I’ve had many problems in my life and most of them have never happened.”
- “Reasonable is for wimps. Reasonable is easy. “
